Volumetric Surveys

Volumetric surveys can be very specific to each site and client specification and our experience can help interpret our client’s requirements. Whether it be for prospective landfill sites, working mines/quarries or any other planning of development.

We have a long standing relationship in place with Rotherham Sand & Gravel based in North Nottinghamshire. PMC Surveys routinely satisfy the needs of the quarry when it comes to planners and regulators.

Our total station (Leica TCRP1201) has the ability to observe remote measurements robotically meaning if land or positions are inaccessible we are able to observe points from a distance. It is one of the most versatile, accurate and repeatable instruments in the world at completing topographic surveys. It enables data capture at high rate of positions in a short space of time and can be programmed to observe distances, angles and coordinates automatically.  We also have access to laser scanning instrumentation. Please enquire to take advantage of this service.

This doesn’t take the focus away from the surveyor though and without the intuition and problem solving abilities of the surveyor the instrument becomes redundant. Volumetric surveys are heavily reliant on personal interpretation of land shape and extent of detail. Each site and client has varying demands and we endeavour to work with the needs and demands of each environment and project.

Plans are available in colour and in either, digital or hard copy format up to A0 using AutoCAD software, our clients are always impressed with the final result with which they are presented. In all our experience we have never yet been asked to clarify, amend or correct plans from surveys we have produced. Our clients can rely on PMC Surveys to deliver high quality surveys.
